Good Job: A Meaningful Career Journal will provide the clarity you need as you deal with job challenges such as overwhelming stress, difficult colleagues and a never-ending to-do list. Through thoughtful questions and creative prompts, you can discover who you are (your strengths, abilities, skills and values) and what matters to you so you can envision your own meaningful career and take empowered action.
It is your career confidant and career coach in book form.
Good Job is NOT a personality test or career assessment program. It will not provide a list of potential jobs for you. It is not a book on careers, resume building or interview skills. There are no inspiring stories on other people’s job trajectories.
It is a book of your truth, your own career journey, and the lessons you've learned to guide you to make empowered and intentional choices.
It has four sections:
A career mood tracker
Where you are now
Where you want to be
The next steps.
Your insights can guide you to finding the next role that’s a better fit for you, or having a new perspective on your current job, or shifting responsibilities at work, or having a long-overdue conversation with your boss, or even asking for help on healing past trauma.
Good Job: A Meaningful Career Journal is ideal if you have already had a minimum of five years job experience. If you are a fresh graduate or running your own business, this journal might not be a good match.
In the midst of confusion about your career, clarity is a gift.
Clarity is empowering. By understanding who you are, what matters to you and what drives you, you will feel empowered to make courageous choices in your career.
Clarity gives purpose. By identifying why you do what you do and how it’s aligned with who you are and who you want to become, your career becomes meaningful instead of the daily grind.
Clarity provides direction. Knowing what you want, not just what you don’t want. Knowing your strengths, not just your ideal culture or workday. Knowing what’s essential to your well-being, not just a five-year plan.
Clarity comes from self-awareness.The journey to getting to know yourself better is always a good thing as your relationship with yourself will be the longest and most meaningful one of your life.
Reviews about Good Job:
What shifted for me is that this is not a simple job search. I had to be faced by the questions Good Job presented and [it] dawned on me this was a search for a more meaningful life as well. —DJD
It prompted me to think about what I really want to do career wise. Since life is fast paced and I don't really have the time to sit down and think—Good Job made me contemplate.—MT
I guess now there's urgency. I have been procrastinating for way too long and Good Job gave me that much needed "push" or "cheering on" to finally go for it.—AB
